A scooter stator is a set of wire coils that turns the mechanical movement of the engine into electric power. As the scooter's engine runs, a magnet (magneto) spins inside the stator inducing an electrical alternating current (AC). Electrical current from the magneto stator goes to the rectifier and a set of diodes that convert the AC current to direct current (DC). The regulator controls the DC voltage output of the rectifier so that it will charge, but not overcharge, the battery. This also continues to operate the electrical components on the scooter, saving the battery power for the starter. Scooter Parts Catalog offers scooter stator and magneto units for the popular GY6 engine, the most widely produced scooter engine type. If you need a replacement magneto stator, call or email us.
